How do we know if we are following Biblical wisdom?
In the chapter 3rd chapter of James we see eight qualities of godly wisdom:
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
First, godly wisdom is pure and peaceable or peace loving. False wisdom is characterized by bitter envy and selfish ambition; godly wisdom is characterized by purity of motive and love.
Second, it is open to reason and full of mercy. Selfish ambition can start a war, but God’s wisdom can bring Truth and clarity where there is chaos.
Finally, it is considerate without hypocrisy or partiality. You have strength and power, but you have them under control so that when you have the opportunity to hurt someone, you won’t do it.
And because of wisdom, you will always have good fruit. Your life will be blessed.
Pray: Lord, thank You that as I spend time studying Your Word and listening to Your voice, I will find wisdom and enjoy all the benefits it offers me.
I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
This is my Word of Hope for you, my friend.
