Are you settling for less than the best?

What do we choose to settle for less than the best?

Too often, we settle for less than the best, something mediocre, rather than accepting the great things God had planned.

When God called Abraham, here is what God said:

Genesis 12:1
‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you'”

At the time, that land was called Canaan. But when Abraham left, he only made it as far as Haran, a long way off from Canaan and far from God’s best.

One of the reasons God called Abraham to leave was to free Abraham from his idol worship.

He knew Abraham needed a clean break from his old way of life.

But Abraham didn’t quite make it. Instead, he compromised his blessings. He didn’t leave his people. He took his people with him.

The temptation to compromise and settle for less is something all of us may face.

When this temptation comes, we can either stand strong in the promise of God or miss out on God’s best when we compromise our faith.

The good news is that God will also do the same for us, no matter who we are or what we have done.

He stands ready to lead us to His perfect plan for our lives if we will only follow Him.

Pray: Lord, thank You that You will never forsake me and that You are working for my good and Your glory. Help me to obey Your will, remembering that You have great plans for my life.

This is my Word of Hope for you, today, my friend.
